Thanks for the picture and the time you allowed me to spend with you
and Tommy. Good honest friends are hard to come by this day in time,
so I think I will hang on to both of you. I will be in touch as I
start to set up the business, hope you don't mind if I call
occasionally for some advice...

Thanks
Ben Tyson

Watching your DVD, I was able to view and grasp the
basic technique, and I have to say I was extremely
impressed. It is difficutl to find someone in the city of
Chicago to do maintenance on reels. I was surfing the
net one night when I came accross your website. I am thrilled
to have found such a jewel.

I purchased Connie's video and cleaned all of my reels to the best of my ability. I used the gear lube and oil that Connie suggested in the video, and used he cleaner Simple Green to wash down all of the parts.

Simply cleaning them thoroughly worked on all but my Curado SF, which I then shipped to Connie and she replaced the yoke. Much more cost effective then buying a new reel. From now on, I will clean my reels at the first sign of trouble. If that doesn't fix it, it goes in a box headed to Yantis, TX. Lake Fork Tackle Repair will treat you right!

This is a great video for those of you that may interested in servicing your own reels.

I’ve watched the video a couple of times and the advice and procedure makes it so simple and obvious, I could just slap myself in the face!!

Shimano Reel Repair

Dear Connie and Tommy,

Words can't describe what a wonderful experience it was working with you at Lake Fork. Your methodical approach to reel and tackle repair, along with your business practices are beyond approach. Enclosed is "Commanders Coin" from the 416th Engineering Command.the unit I served with in Kawait/Iraq back in 2003.

I carried these coins for our Commander, Major General Heine, and he would hand them out to soldiers that had been singled out by their chain of command as doing excellent work. It was an honor for these soldiers, and I hope you take it as such as I pass this coin along to you!

Freshwater Baitcaster Reel Repair

Connie and Tommy,

It has been over a month now since I attended your reel school. I wanted to wait to see how things went with what I had learned. I think your course was fantastic. From the business end to the repair work, it was well done and very easy to understand. Most of all it came from the heart. It is easy to learn when something is taught sincerely. The quality that you continually stressed gave me a great foundation and confidence. I learned more at your school than in a lot of college graduate classes.

Again, thanks so much.
Bill Kenney

Connie & Tommy,

First let me say that the video and kit you put together is AWESOME! I have learned so much about my reels it isn't even funny! I have cleaned 12 so far and I now wonder how any of them ever worked with all the dirt. Here in Okinawa the Bass ponds a very few, like 2 on the entire island but, I was able to break free from the base for a few hours to try a couple of the reels out that I cleaned, WOW what a difference it makes.

My name is Rick Loomis. I am a full time professional licensed fishing guide on Lake Fork in Texas. I will do over 200 trips a year. When fishing Lake Fork the possibility of a fish over ten pounds is very possible and maybe even a world record. When booking trips the questions that I get asked most is what rod do I need or what size fishing line do I need. I can answer these questions with no problem. The one question that I can not answer, is my equipment in the best shape that I need it to be. The most important part of your trip is your reel, that is what controls everything when casting and bring fish to the boat.

With this new video you can keep your reel in the same shape as when you bought it new. You would not go hunting for a trophy buck without a clean gun. Fishing is the same thing. When fishing for your biggest bass the last thing that you would want to happen if your reel to miss fire. This video will let you keep your reels in the best shape that you can keep them in. That will be a big plus when you do get that bass over ten pounds on or that new world record. If you are not keeping your reels clean it will cost you that fish that you have been fishing for your whole life.

Fish Friendly,
Rick Loomis

If this video can help me, it can help anyone, cause I ain’t the brightest lightbulb in the group. I "SUCCESSFULLY" serviced my Shimano Calcutta using this video. I highly recommend it.

Thank you again for your DVD. I took your DVD to another level and it helped me start my own reel service and repair business. Last year with the help of my family we launched St. Peter's Outfitter. I was the soul service and repair tech. This season I have been flooded with reels and needed to add three part time service/repair employees to keep up with the workload. It looks like its going to be a great season. We have begun working on salt water reels.

I was looking at your web site and just wanted to say " Thank you". It was very informative, i started building rods a few years ago and wanted to learn reel repair, any information you have could help, there is just is not anyone in the area that offers this service. Thank you for your help and your web site.

I really like the video. Can’t wait to work on a few of my reels.. L.Pabreau

I watched the video last night-you did a real nice job. I’m looking forward to breaking open a couple of my Abu-Garcias. Let me know when the next video is done. Thanks. Again.

Well, I got LFTR DVD reel maintainance video today! LFTR shipped my DVD in 2 days. This video is worth it and then some! It should pay for itself many times over again. Big thanks to LFTR.
Joe

The condition of your fishing reel never matters quite more than when you hang into the fish of your dreams and look down to notice you're winding-but the fish is tail-walking in the other direction with a smile on his face. Fishing success depends on preparation and Connie's video makes reel maintenance easy to understand and a snap to perform-plus,this video pays for itself many times over.

I think the video is excellent! I have always been leery of breaking down my Chronarchs past the point of generalcleaning, but now feel confident to do so. I always enjoy your comments on the BFHP board.
Thanks,
Roger L.

It is a good video. From watching this video, it’s quite obvious Tommy can do this in his sleep. I don’t want people to get the impression that I’m going soft, but Connie and Tommy are good people and know their stuff too. After seeing the video, I came to realization that I use way too much lubrication and have been applying it the wrong way.
